Washing Dishes

My children thought it would be fun. I thought, what the heck! Something they could do for 10 or 15 minutes that would entertain them. And at worst, I might lose a bowl, and have soapy water pre-applied to some areas that needed cleaning anyway.

And then there is stacking.

I will not try to ask or understand the hows and whys of the saturated towel that was allegedly used for drying. I will forever remain perplexed by that because of the pools of water in and around the dishes. Two of the three children required changes of clothing after this little adventure. But, they all took turns at washing, rinsing and drying. And no one pushed anyone else off a barstool. And now I won't have to scrape the dishes before they go into the dishwasher. So that's cool.

  1. Sweet! My 2.5 year old loves to help put things in the dish rack (when I am not using the dishwasher) and his stacking abilities are right on par with your kids'. But he loves doing it, so I can't deny him! ;-)
