It Never Came.

I tried.

Honest I did.

I wanted it to be Christmas. To feel like it. To be sparkle, and smile, and tinsel, and love, and well, Christmas.

It got closer - I enjoyed many parts of it, but it was just so fragmented this year. And the joy that I've had since my first child was born, that glow that comes by the light of the tree?

I couldn't find it.

And now?

What do I do now?

I'm gonna keep looking.

I'm gonna decide to find a piece of Christmas in
every day.

Because it's not about the tinsel. Or the lights. Or the wrapping paper.

It's about the love. The gift.

Not the one under the tree.

The one in the stable.

I can find it. And it's the gift I'm happiest about!

  1. Megan, You're not alone. I'll be the first to admit it's hard to find that Christmas spirit in the hustle and bustle, the trying to be a great mom and making sure your kids get exactly what they want. You may not feel it, but I bet your kids felt it because of what you did for them.
