Whole New Woman and Other Randoms

I know I've mentioned it here a couple of times, and if you follow me on Twitter at all, I've whine about it a LOT there, but my back has been a MESS the last few weeks.

I've got some funky hips, and they tend to come out of joint, I end up compensating for that with how I stand and walk, and viola, I have a broken Megan M.

Today, though... Today was Massage Day.

AAAAaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh....

The release in my spine, the reduction in tension in my neck and shoulders. I'm a whole new woman.

Thank goodness. That "other" me was making me feel kinda old, and THAT'S not cool!

In other news, my boys' team won their game last night. E got his first hit, a single, and was eventually batted in:

J's getting there - I can feel it, tomorrow will be his big day. E had some time before the game yesterday to really work on his swing and stance. J had more homework, which won. After he's done with homework tonight, though, we're going to be able to get some practice in, and he's so close, he mostly needs confidence.

I'm anxiously awaiting a package of goodies (it'd be great if they showed up today, Earth Day) - I'm going to be trying my hand at a vegetable garden. I'm seriously considering a wading pool raised bed, because trying to get my soil to a good growing quality will take an act of God. That link has some great examples of using repurposed wading pools, old tires, etc, to create container gardens, even within urban areas.

Also on my to-do list this week is to pick  up a composter. I've been looking at them for a while now, and found one that I think will fit my needs and budget. We don't end up with a lot of waste produce, truth be told, but coffee grounds, grass clippings and eggshells we have in abundance. You gotta start somewhere!

And, just for fun, I'm gonna end this with my cutie - the lovely Effie. I've enjoyed having time to take some walks with her over the last few days, and now that I don't feel like death every time I take a step, we're going to be able to kick that up a bit!

What's new with you!?
