I don’t have a fabulous DSLR with tons of lenses and settings, but I do have a pretty awesome point-and-shoot camera my dad got me for my birthday a couple of years ago. The DSLR is on my official wish list, but it’s going to be a while before I can do that!
While I wait, I wanted to feel like I was taking full advantage of the things my camera will do. Since I had gotten into a rut of snapping that posed, fake smile shot of the people in my life, I really hadn’t explored all of the features of the camera. As I futzed with it some a couple weeks ago, I found a setting called Fireworks. (I know, they were all sneaky about it, weren’t they!?)
Friday, while the bonus kids & their parents were here, we had a few small fireworks out front of the house – gave me a chance to play a bit with that setting. Saturday, however, opened up some greater opportunities for me to learn and explore it!
Without further ado, some of our “neighborhood” explosions!
And then, just because he’s the kid that hates letting me take his picture, so he’s not on here nearly as much as his brother and sister, I present:
J!
Ok, what kind of camera do you have? I'm in the market for a few one, and yours seems to take fantastic pictures!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, Megan! I haven't been to see fireworks in forEVER.
ReplyDeleteFireworks are really hard to get good pictures of, even with the setting. You did a great job!
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th!
