Truthful Tuesdays

It's time again for Truthful Tuesdays, where we gotta have the guts to spill it. Truthful Tuesdays comes from Elizabeth over at Confessions From A Working Mom, and today Elizabeth wants to know

What is your spouse's most ANNOYING habit, and how do you cope with it?

I laughed really hard when I read Elizabeth's answer. I can really, really, REALLY relate! Now, she posted more than this, so please be sure to go read her whole answer, but we have the same issue.

My husband doesn't listen to me.

And he'll be the first to tell you that. It's a running joke, in fact, because he swears the last words he heard me say was "I Do" - really. So, we established a few years ago that if there was something important, that he really needed to know, I was to email him. If it's short, and urgent, I text him, but beyond that, we do much of our important communication via Google - Google Calendar, GMail, etc. He knows where I am based on my calendar, he knows where he's supposed to be based on his.

It works out, really, because at the end of the day, it saves me from having to listen to him, too. ;-)

Ok, your turn! Pop your answer into your blog and link up! Not a blogger? No biggie, that's what comments are for!

  1. Just about EVERYBODY has said "he doesn't listen"... at least I'm not alone! Maybe we should create a "listening class" and enroll all our hubbies!

  2. my husband doesn't listen to me tell him that his most annoying habit is his driving habit of having to be the fastest on the road and if someone passes him, the race is on...geesh if I die, I know it will be at the hands of his driving....thanks for letting me vent privately.

  3. Your suggestion of using the Google calender is GENIUS. I will implementing this tonite, as our husbands share the same perplexing genes.

  4. I feel you. Mine doesn't listen either. He doesn't check his email, so I guess I should text him. That or get a big box and make it look like the t.v.

@Karen I know just what you mean as well. I'll tell him, "Oh no, you let one slip by." He doesn't think it's funny though.

  5. Well apparently I should have listed this one as well. This evening I texted my husband to pick something up on his way home. When he arrived guess what he had, nothing.
I agree the calendar idea is genius
