Truthful Tuesdays

It almost feels like cheating.

You know, when I don't get to post for days and days, and when I finally do, it's to play along with blog hops/memes from the girls. But, on the flip side, it's nice to have a great topic to post about, and today is no exception!

Confessions from a Working Mom

Elizabeth from Confessions From A Working Mom has been given a GREAT question from her current Queen For The Week, Heather at Inich... Like Spinach!

How Did You Tell DH (or your family!) You Were Pregnant?

And the question is: Which time!?

Our three kiddo's are all pretty close in age. (As in the oldest was 32 months old when # 3 showed up.) I'll be honest - we weren't planning to get pregnant, um, ANY of those times actually. We were not yet married when J was born, and I had taken my test at work. Mostly because I didn't want him to see a test in the trash can and be all worried about nothing. Only, it wasn't nothing. There were no faint pink lines, there was this nearly black line on that test. I was for sure pregnant. I was terrified to come home and tell him! I had to sit through a meeting after work, and then came home to find him sprawled across the couch, watching television. I told him we needed to talk, made him shut it off, and then handed him the test. He was SO excited! I don't know now why I worried, really. (I mean, besides the fact that I was only just approaching my 22nd birthday, we weren't married,  this was totally unplanned, we were trying to buy our first house which really wasn't a good family home but was a great starter house. What was there to worry about!?)

When we got pregnant with E, I laughed about it the whole time I tried to tell him. We were about to have J's first birthday party, and I was fighting a sinus infection. I have decided that sinus infections are my sign that I'm pregnant. I was not even late yet, but bought DayQuil and a test. E arrived that September, and by after Christmas we were laughing about how we could have another right away, and totally cope. (It was WAY harder having 2 kids than just the one.)

We didn't realize we'd, um, put the hex on it.

It was about the 3rd week of January when I, again, had a sinus infection. And I, again, peed on a stick. Big Daddy was working at Olive Garden in those days, and you know that "When you're here, you're family" slogan they have? The whole staff celebrated with us when I popped over to break the news to him. I just laughed and said "You know how you said you felt like we could have another baby right now, and you were totally ok with that? I sure hope you meant it!" He did!

(I did ensure that no more oops's for us, though. I'm good with my three, thanks! We really did want three kids. I had planned to have about three years between each one, though, not all three of them IN that three years!)

Now for a minor apology. I STARTED this post on Tuesday. I totally meant to have it done and posted and beautiful. On Tuesday. But, now it's Wednesday, only I'm SURE it's STILL Monday. So, I'm sorry it's late, but better late than never. Right?
