A Turkey in a Field

Wildlife are not uncommon in our area.

Our local paper had video this morning on their website of a fox family, frolicking in a writer's back yard. Deer constantly parade through mine. Wild turkey are a common site.

There's a cornfield that I drive past with some regularity, and it's VERY common to see deer and turkey there, especially in late fall and early spring. The corn has been harvested, stalks are cut back, there's plenty of feed available to them.

We passed that field on the way to baseball practice Saturday morning. I wasn't sure that I saw what I thought that I saw. It certainly caught me off guard.

Driving home, we came that same way, and there it was. I didn't have my camera, just my cell phone, so I'm sorry the picture isn't any better. I pulled off the road, the kids quizzing me. All I could say, through my laughter, was
"It's gonna be a funny blog post!"

Do you see it? There, in the middle?
There is a ding-dang (not still) frozen turkey laying in the middle of that field.
I have no answers. Just questions. And a picture.

  3. Too funny! My kids and I saw a rat run across an intersection on our way home last night. We got a good laugh out of it.
