Football Foods with a Kick!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of TABASCO® Original Red. All opinions are 100% mine.

I'm all about flavorful foods, and one of my go-to staples is TABASCO Original Red.

We use it for the standard - in our Football Sunday pot of chili, a dash or two into spaghetti sauce, on our morning eggs. TABASCO goes in my chili cheese dip, required at all major holidays and family events.

With the ultimate football event coming up, (without my Colts, doggone it!) I'm working on some general planning of our party menu, and I assure you, TABASCO will be involved. Wings will be sauced, dips will be made, and of course, pizza will be tossed and baked by my fabulous husband, and every one of the above will result in the breaking out of our Sam's Club bottle of TABASCO Original Red. I'm getting inspiration from TABASCO's Game-Day Party Menu site, right down to the beverages!

One of the things I love about using TABASCO is that it's just the right level of heat for our family - not to much for the kids, just enough for me, and easy for my husband to kick up with an extra dash or two for his taste. It doesn't overwhelm the other flavors I've worked to blend together in my recipes, and helps really develop complex blends of flavor when I use it. When you cook frequently for a crowd, you learn to proceed with caution where spices and seasonings are concerned, but I've never had a complaint that there's too much TABASCO!

There are a TON of great recipes on the TABASCO site - be sure to check them out :

Now, I want to hear from you - what are your favorite ways to use TABASCO? Me? I mix it up with some brown sugar and toss my smoked chicken wings in it. Perfect blend of heat and sweet. Now, share your great ideas in the comments!

  1. My favorite way to use Tabasco is in EVERYTHING haha. I toss it in my curry (when I want to be the ony one who can eat it haha) and I even add a few drops to the water when I'm boiling rice to give it a nice flavor without much heat.
