Spring Mill State Park

We're only a few weeks into our summer break from school, and we've refused to slow down.

And if I'm being honest? I'm loving it.

We've had a ton of baseball and softball, but we've done more than that! We have several great Indiana State Parks nearby, so while my sister-in-law and 2 of her kids were in town, we loaded up the van and headed to Spring Mill for a few hours.

This is the boat tour of one of the many limestone caves that exist in our area. There are several other cave boat tours in the region, and I think we’ve decided that we’re adding at least one other to our summer plans.

We hiked down a trail to head in and explore the Pioneer Village.

There was a gorgeous old mill, and the water wheel still works!

Once  an hour, they open up a gate here:

And then….

It was beautiful to see! There’s a mercantile in the village as well, and my kiddos got to pick out a few things courtesy of their Aunt.

We did a little more exploring before we headed out, but there was so much more we could have done… I think another day trip, and maybe even a camping trip is in order in the near future!

More on other adventures soon!
