Summer slowly slipping away

I looked around today, and realized it’s the end of July.

Whoa.

Two weeks from yesterday, the kids will be back in school. Doesn’t matter how old you get, the start of the school year heralds the unofficial end of summer, and I’m not sure I’m quite ready for summer to be over yet. We still have a few last hurrah tricks up our sleeves – tomorrow will include the county fair, and next week we’re going to spend a couple of days at Holiday World. Right now, J is enjoying some vacation of his own, hanging out with my dad & stepmom. I’ve gotten photos that have indicated there might be a little fishing going on…

And maybe some s’more eating…

Smores

Looks like he’s having a pretty good time to me!

While I’m not totally ready for school to start, I will admit, my days will be easier again. I’ve tried to work from home as much as possible this summer, because frankly? There isn’t much fun to be had by the kids at my office. They can hang with my mom sometimes, and I’ve tried to do much of my office time when the husband is off, but still, we’ve had a fair number of days where the TaxKids have hung out at the tax office. Those days frequently require that I do more multitasking than on the days where I can just go in and work.

But for now? For the next 2 weeks?

We’re gonna summer it up!

Is “summer” wrapping up in your area? What last hurrahs are you getting in before the kids head back to school?
